MSSE Annual Holiday Meeting

MSSE held our annual holiday meeting on 12/6, where we discussed updates, celebrated the holidays, and even had Brandon Wright present on legal updates. We also celebrated 2 Making the Difference Award recipients: Madi Whittington and Brandy Buske.

Madi Whittington was recognized for the amazing work she does for MSSE and for her serving district, Carlinville. Madi is a ray of sunchine. Madi, along with her SLP team in Carlinville, hosted their first of many AAC parent support group meeting. Th is meeting was designed to help parents learn how to use the device, understand the importance of using it at home, and provided them with an overall better understanding of their child’s communication needs. Her lessons are inventive, she is efficient and ensures that every moment with her students are utilized, and she is a valuable team member that provides insightful contributions to the team planning process. Madi is always positive, calm, smiling, and kind.

Brandy Buske was recognized as being a leader among our organization and especially in our Leadership group. She identifies what areas we can improve in, she helps to create guidance documents, she shares a plethora of resources, and she serves as a person that you can always call to bounce ideas off of. No matter how busy she is, what time it is, or what personal time she is sacrificing to help, she is always there. Brandy will always ensure that she is following legal guidance, following best practice, and following what is best for staff. She is a supporter, an advocate, and a ray of positivity. The hours that she spends supporting her district and MSSE, she is truly making the difference.
